Position Summary

The Travel Forestry Technician performs hands-on vegetation management, environmental restoration, and site-support work across multiple states. This role is for reliable outdoor professionals who are comfortable traveling for extended periods and working safely in rugged field conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform invasive species removal, vegetation management, and site-restoration activities.
• Apply and document herbicides in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Assist with mapping, tracking, and coordination with state and local agencies.
• Support tree planting and reforestation work.
• Operate and maintain trimmers, brush hogs, chainsaws, hand tools, trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
• Set up and maintain traffic-control zones, including signage and cones.
• Complete daily fueling, greasing, sharpening, cleaning, and pre-trip inspections.
• Work with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain safe, productive field operations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to travel for extended periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, uneven terrain, and wooded environments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong reliability and attention to detail.
• Commitment to PPE requirements, including a long-sleeve shirt, full-length pants, steel- or composite-toe boots, eye and ear protection, and gloves.

Compensation
